Adi Shankaracharya
Sri Shankaracharya (788-820) is an Indian thinker, a prominent representative of Advaita-Vedanta, a religious reformer, philosopher, critic, poet. He created the monistic Advaita-Vedanta system. In the last years of his life, Shankara traveled throughout India and founded monasteries, some of which operate to this day. He died at the age of 33, surrounded by numerous disciples and followers. According to testimony, his divine transformation took place on Mount Kailash. Teacher Shankara has 11 works, the most famous work is the monumental treatise "Viveka Chudamani". Sri Shankaracharya's teachings are based on the traditional texts of Hinduism: the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad-gita and Vedanta-sutras.
