Karen Balyan
Karen Balyan (b. 1953) Karen Balyan is a specialist and professor of the history of modernism. He is the author of more than 100 monographs and scientific articles on architecture and urban planning, published in different countries of the world. He is a laureate of USSR and international competitions. In 1975 graduated from K. Faculty of Architecture of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute named after Marx. He completed his post-graduate studies at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture in Moscow, and defended his PhD thesis on the issues of national architecture. Since 1981, he has been a member of the Union of Architects of the USSR, a member of the Union of Architects of the Russian Federation and the Union of Architects of Armenia.
