Meline Manouchian
French-Armenian figure Meline Manouchian (1913-1989) was the wife and comrade-in-arms of Misak Manouchian, the hero of the resistance movement. Genocide survivors Meline and Misak met in Paris and fell in love. Carelessness lasted very short. World War II began and France was occupied. Meline became an indispensable assistant to the fighters of the Resistance movement and a full participant in the underground struggle. After the end of the war, Meline fulfilled Misak's last wish: she moved to Soviet Armenia. The Soviet government locked him in a small apartment in Yerevan, depriving him of his family waiting for him in Paris. 30 years after Misak's death, Meline collected all her memories, all her sadness and gave everything to the book. In 2024, 35 years after Meline's death, her remains were reinterred with Misak at the Panthéon in Paris.
