Yuval Noah Harari
Yuval Noah Harari (born 1976) is one of the most influential scholars of the 21st century. He teaches at the Department of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2014, Harari published Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. It begins 70,000 years ago, when knowledge of the world was just emerging. Harari tells how evolving humans have affected the global ecosystem and how they have created empires. The author merges history and science, revising popular views, connecting past developments to contemporary problems, and viewing individual events in the context of larger ideas.
