On December 11, the Alexander Hotel hosted the presentation of “The Cultural Map” by Erin Meyer, a professor at INSEAD International Business School in Paris and an expert in intercultural management. Translated into Armenian and published by Newmag with Ardshinbank’s initiative and financial backing, the event featured insights into the author's creative journey. Erin Meyer's research, exploring communication models and global business systems, has been recognized in prestigious publications such as Harvard Business Review, Singapore Business Times, and Forbes.com. In 2013, she was acknowledged in the Thinkers50 Radar ranking as one of the most promising global business thinkers. The bestselling book, released in 2014, analyzes the impact of national and cultural differences on international business.
Present at the event were Ardshinbank's Chairman of the Board, Artak Ananyan, Newmag Publishing's Director, Artak Aleksanyan, Chief Editor of the publishing house, Gnel Nalbandyan, and translator David Sargsyan.
Chairman Artak Ananyan shared insights into Ardshinbank's involvement, stating, “In recent years, a substantial influx of foreigners has enriched our country, actively engaging in Armenia's economic and social life. The coexistence of diverse national cultures has prompted a pertinent question for Armenian businesses: how to effectively communicate with foreigners, how to build interpersonal relationships in this cultural diversity. Business in Armenia is becoming international, exemplified by the transformation of Ardshinbank. Today, over 80% of the bank's profit is generated not in Armenia but abroad, in international markets. At the same time, the bank is seeing an increase in the number of foreign employees; effectively, intercultural communication becomes a crucial factor in communication and successful business conduct. Considering these factors, we believe translating Erin Meyer's valuable research into Armenian aligns with our commitment to facilitating meaningful cross-cultural understanding”.
This collaboration marks Newmag's third joint venture with Ardshinbank, following the Armenian releases of '100 Monologue' and Nobel laureate Milton Friedman's “Capitalism and Freedom”.
The activities of Ardshinbank are regulated by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
