It's a good read for those navigating an alternate-reality world. In the SMART series, Newmag presents "The Age of AI: And Our Human Future" by Henry Kissinger within its SMART series. This book has a completely new approach to AI prospects and dangers. T
Scarlett Johansson is shocked, upset and angry. The voice of the chatbot created by OpenAI is very similar to her voice. In 2016, the first short film was created, the script of which was completely written by artificial intelligence. A few years ago, the first non-human painting was sold at Christie's for $432,500.
Today, we can ask artificial intelligence to create a fictional photo, write a text, create a script, paint, write music, a story, and a book. Robots are everywhere, they follow us, analyze our behavior on social networks, and in the store, and prompt credit specialists or marketers to send advertisements and offer products specifically for us. Experts believe that a strong artificial intelligence very close to the human brain will be finally formed in 2075, and 30 years after that, the era of super AI will come.
Where did artificial intelligence appear, why did it invade our lives and what does it want? Famous American diplomat and statesman Henry Kissinger, technologist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Eric Schmidt, the first dean of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Schwarzman College of Computing Daniel Huttenlocker wrote a book that has answers to all questions.
"The Age of AI: And Our Human Future" discusses the possibilities and challenges of artificial intelligence. The co-authors explain the radical historical changes in how we perceive the world and our role in it. One of the authors, Henry Kissinger, was the US President's National Security adviser. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for his efforts to end the Vietnam War. He was the Secretary of State of two US administrations under Nixon and Ford.
Just five years ago, one of the book's authors almost walked out of a transatlantic conference on artificial intelligence. He didn't want to hear about AI because it was uninteresting. But they convinced him, and he stayed, and after that, the idea of writing the book arose.
What a person does in a few hours or days, in some cases even a lifetime, a neural network can do in a few minutes, even seconds. Artificial intelligence permeates all areas of our lives: transportation, industry, medicine, commerce, finance, education, and law. Human civilization is in a qualitatively new era of transformation and historical development, the 4th Industrial Revolution.
According to The Economist, the book is a useful warning to be careful with artificial intelligence, as well as a recommendation to create institutions to control artificial intelligence. The book "The Age of AI: And Our Human Future" was published within the SMART series, and the general partner is Digitain. From 2022, Digitain and Newmag have jointly initiated the SMART series, within which IT-related books are published.
The book presentation will take place on June 22, 7 pm, in Yeraz Park. In the format of a panel discussion, Armenian specialists from the IT sector will discuss the book and the future of AI in Armenia.
