For the past three years Newmag has constantly translated and published autobiographies and success stories of world-known sportsmen and coaches. The huge interest of the readers and the high sale rates come to prove that Newmag adopted a rather crucial a

Armen Amirkhanyan is a big fan of sports. In his professional career Amirkhanyan had numerous opportunities to speak about various Armenian and international sportsmen in his video reports and articles. The main focus of the reports were indeed the inspirational victories and games. However, when Newmag started translating sports books, Armen Amirkhanyan noticed that there are plenty of facts that he hasn’t had the chance to learn about previously. “The books that we have translated are not simply for the professionals of the industry. For example, the book about Zidane mainly encompasses stories about his roots, family, professional journey and values. The book helps us to discover a new side of him and learn about both failures and success stories that he witnessed on his path.”

In the book “Zidane” the reader has a unique chance to learn more about Zidane as an individual, not just as a football player. This book is also special in terms of its unique language characteristics. Armen Amirkhanyan claims that it was both challenging and interesting to work on the book. “I have always thought that I know Zidane quite well, but this book altered my perceptions. I started the editing only after reading the book twice. I even watched some of the football matches that were discussed in the book. Each and every detail mattered in this book.”

On the other hand, the “I am Zlatan” book has a drastically different style. This book is just like Zlatan - unique in all aspects. As in the case of Zidane, Zlatan also comes from a family of immigrants. From the first sight it might seem that those two football players had relatively similar paths, but when you read the books carefully it becomes clear that starting from family traditions to the professional career, everything has been different. “In Zlatan’s book the reader can come across some of his childhood traumas, which up to this day make his life challenging and make some situations hard to handle for him. The 40-year-old football player is a really interesting character in fact. He has always been on the spot of discussions.”

Armen Amirkhanyan notes that these success stories, which encompass a huge source of motivation, can indeed be inspirational for the young generation. These books will definitely teach many life lessons and in fact, that is what Newmag aimed to focus on. As a concluding remark Armen Amirkhanyan claims that the interest amongst the readers continues to grow and that’s certainly a good indicator.
