Newmag Summer Fest 2021 will be held on July 16 in the Yeraz Park (trailer of the festival)
The date of Newmag Summer Fest is July 16; the location is Yeraz Park. It will kick off right on midday and will last for more than 11 hours. The festival has 5 locations, there will be simultaneous literary events in all of those locations. The main goal
The concept of the most awaited book festival was initiated by Newmag Publishing House. The main partners are Yeraz Projects and Veolia Water companies.
The main location is the Ground Hall, where a number of interesting discussions will take place. The topics are: “How does sport literature contribute to the development of sport?”, “Contemporary Russian literature”, “Women writers and literature for women”, “The sorrow of loss and the literature: How to cope with tragedy?”, “Pandemic and literature: How the isolation affected us?”.
In the Ground Hall Newmag also plans to have three book presentations. Those bestsellers are “Zidane’s Two Lives” biography authored by Jean Philippe and Patrick Fort, Narine Abgaryan’s “Simon” novel and Alex Michaelides’s “The Maidens” thriller.
On July 16 the Yeraz Park will transform into a “city of books”. In Location 1 the participants will get the chance to meet with Armenian authors. Ani Qochar, Harut Kbeyan, Ara Tadevosyan and Arman Saghatelyan will talk about their books and the latest trends of the literary world.
The Location 2 is for public lectures. Arevik Udumyan will present the “Building Identity in Social Media” topic. Karine Khodikyan will tell you “How to write in the 21st century?”. Gnel Nalbandyan will talk about “Text and Context”, Edik Poghosyan’s topic is “5 Rules of Design”. Last, but not least, Liana Zakaryan will talk about “The Subtle Art of Translation”.
Newmag also has a surprise for its little readers. In the Book Garden Hrant Tokhatyan, Nazeni Hovhannisyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Arpi Maghaqyan, Liana Vanoyan and Narek Margaryan will read fairy tales at the Book Garden.
Beside literary discussions and meeting, in the scope of this book festival the organizers present Newmag Readers’ Prize contest. The “reader of the year” will get a chance to get all the new books of Newmag for free until December 31, 2021. To take part in this contest you should write an interesting, analytical review about your favorite book in the Newmag’s website. The deadline is July 14. The editors of Newmag Publishing House will read all of the reviews and will choose the best one. The winner will get the Newmag Reader’s Prize. You can write reviews for several books, the minimum word limit is 800 words.
At the end of the day, the final accords of the festival will be heard in the Music Hall. Firstly, the participants can take part in the Newmag Readers’ Prize award. In the end, you can enjoy the performances of your favorite artists: Erik Karapetyan, Sofi Mkheyan, Srbuhi Sargsyan and Gor Sujyan.
Book presentations, meeting with your favorite authors, warm and literary conversations accompanied by a glass of wine or coffee. Newmag assures that there will be big discounts for the books. The entrance is free. The festival will be broadcasted live on ATV and Armnews TV channels, as well as on the Facebook page of Newmag Publishing House.
