Hamlet Gasparyan

Hamlet Gasparyan (born in 1950) graduated from the YSU Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology. During the Soviet years, he worked as a proofreader and publishing editor. He also contributed to independent publications and newspapers. Hamlet Gasparyan is one of the founders of "Azg" newspaper and worked as the newspaper editor until April of 1995. From 1997-1998 he was the executive director of the National Television of Armenia. Later he got a position at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and started a job at the Armenian embassy in France. Hamlet Gasparyan was granted the diplomatic title of envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary minister. From 2006-2010 he was the Chargé d'affaires in the Armenian embassy in France. Hamlet Gasparyan was the ambassador of Armenia in Romania from 2010-2017. Exchanging the professions of journalist and diplomat, Hamlet Gasparyan has authored numerous articles in the Armenian and Diaspora press, translated and edited a number of books. In May 2020, he was granted the Medal of Mkhitar Gosh.
