Lusine Shօukօurian

Lusine Shօukօurian was born in 1983 in Yerevan. In 2006, she graduated from from the department of French language at the faculty of Romance- Germanic philology of the Yerevan State University, then continued her studies at Paul Valery University in Montpellier, France and at the University of Perugia, Italy. From 2007 to 2014, she taught Italian language and literature at the Yerevan State University, Chair of Romance philology. Within the interuniversity cooperation of the Erasmus program, she taught Armenian language at the University of Bologna. Since 2015 she lives in Seattle, Washington State, and teaches French at the Alliance Française of Seattle and at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Lusine Shoukourian's translations from French, Italian, Russian to Armenian were published in Armenian periodicals. She has translated following books from French, Italian and Armenian: " How Wang Fô was saved “(Marguerite Yourcenar: Oriental Tales 2020), "Désiré Bienvenu" (Claude Roy, 2017), "Inventing the Enemy" (Umberto Eco 2016), "La Terre parle" works of Armenian writers victim of Genocide (Ruben Zardaryan, Tlkatinsi, from Armenian to French 2015). She translated a number of articles by Armenian and foreign historians from English to French for the book titled “Armenian Diaspora”, to be published in France.
