1. Ronald Asmus was a German born in the United States in 1957.
2. Graduated from John Hopkins University, he was an expert at the prominent RAND Corporation.
3. In 1993, together with his two colleagues, he published the article "Building a new NATO" in Foreign Affairs magazine, which became the ideological basis of NATO expansion.
