“Phoenix Darbinyan” monograph was published in cooperation with the Hasratyan-Minasyan Foundation. When was it established and what projects it accomplished? (video in Armenian)
Recently Newmag published Karen Balyan’s “Phoenix Darbinyan” monograph. The book was published in cooperation with the Hasratyan-Minasyan foundation. This article presents the scope of activities of the foundation.
Hasratyan Minasyan Foundation was founded in memory of prominent scientist and political figure Mikayel Minasyan and architect, political figure Grigor Hasratyan. Both of them left a great cultural heritage. In 2018, in memory of Mikayel Minasyan and Grigor Hasratyan, their immense input occurred a new breath. The heirs of the two large families, the best specialists in various fields, gathered around a big idea and became members of the foundation’s board of trustees.
The goal of the Foundation is Preservation and further development of art and cultural heritage in Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora and expansion of international cooperation in culture. The main task of the foundation is to maintain the boundless love and responsibility for the country. The sense of responsibility is indeed the main force behind the goals of the foundation. Responsibility for ancestors and responsibility for the future generations.
The foundation has two main directions. "Minasyan" branch deals with alternative research of political concepts. "Hasratyan" branch provides an opportunity to bring to life new, thematic works and bold initiatives.
In 2018 the “Hasratyan” branch initiated two grant contests, which gave 6 artists an opportunity to create new pieces of art. Some of the winning projects include “Roses Inside”, “Waiting for the...”, “Apotheosis of war”.
The foundation organizes exhibitions within the framework of the "Armenian Artists Abroad" program. In 2020, Arshak Sargsyan opened an exhibition in Italy named "Angels and Demons".
«Minasyan» center aims to implement historiographical research. The main goal of the center is to find ways to withstand contemporary challenges facing Armenia. The center intends to promote public and scientific debate on modern Armenian history through research. For this purpose, every year the "Minasyan" center announces the research program "Rethinking the Armenian history of the 20th century." During the announced competition, the jury selects the best scientific research proposals and provides a grant to the winners. The exceptional research examples become available to the public.
The first monograph of the Hasratyan book series is Karen Balyan’s “Phoenix Darbinyan” book. On the initiative of the honored architect of the Republic of Armenia Phoenix Darbinyan and the mayor of Yerevan Grigor Hasratyan, the center of Yerevan was modernized. The book presents various structures and projects by Phoenix Darbinyan.
