On May 10, on the anniversary of writer, and publicist Vahan Ishkhanyan, Newmag presented his latest work. "The Bitter Sea" is a journey that starts from a café. The reader meets hundreds of characters through time and space. John Hughes, American-based editor of ArmeniaNow told the publishing house about the talented journalist, person, and friend.

John Hughes and Vahan Ishkhanyan worked together for more than 10 years. John was an editor and Vahan was a journalist at ArmeniaNow. According to the editor, Vahan was one of the most enthusiastic journalists in Armenia. "If I try to briefly describe our working relationship, it will probably sound like this: Vahan was affecting my nerves. It was normal because it was mutual. I'm sure that journalists and editors will understand what I mean. When it is correct, the result is also visible. Vahan and I were able to get along and work together. I am proud of what we have achieved in Armenia. Having been in journalism for 35 years, he reached his peak".

Gradually the working relationship turned into a warm and long-lasting friendship. "He always argued about the order of words and paragraphs, but we both wanted the right word to appear in the right place. Thanks to his good work and good translators who helped us during discussions, we did special things in Armenia".

Vahan Ishkhanyan was a part of Armenia for John Hughes, an important part. "Buddhism says that no one leaves us as long as they are in our memories. And in his words, Vahan has become a part of all our lives. I am thankful that he has been a part of my life until now. Thank you, dear Vahan".
