Newmag Publishing House presented Avet Barseghyan’s debut poetry collection, “My Mirror”, on the “Good Morning” program of Armenia TV.

The book’s cover was designed by Nur, with Aram Avetis serving as its compiler. Designer Nur shared the story behind the cover’s creation:

"There’s a unique logo on the cover, at first glance, it may seem meaningless, but when you turn the book clockwise, the name ‘Avet’ becomes visible. Anything that turns clockwise symbolizes life. The name appears multiple times on the cover, and when you fully open the book, you can see ‘Avet’ mirrored on both sides. It reflects Avet as both a public figure and a private individual, someone people perceive one way, but who is, in reality, quite different. Many misunderstand his self-irony, mistaking it for arrogance. Inside the book, there’s also a portrait of Avet, drawn in a single continuous line, placed beside a mirror. When the book is half-open, the portrait reflects in the mirror."

Aram Avetis, who compiled the book, explained how they selected the poems:

"I divided the collection into three parts. The first, The Restless, explores themes of self-discovery and introspection. The second, The Indelible, is dedicated to love poetry. The final section, People of the Sun, features a mix of styles and themes. Avet is a well-rounded creator, and I particularly enjoy his eccentric poems, where he satirizes certain social attitudes."

During the broadcast, Avet Barseghyan read one of his poems aloud, reflecting on how the book came to life:

"At Newmag Winter Fest 2023, a year ago, Artak Aleksanyan promised that my book would be published, and here it is. When so many intelligent and creative people come together, incredible energy accumulates, and something meaningful is created. I also have poetry written in Russian, and I might publish that next. In the future, I’d also love to release a collection of my song lyrics."

The publication of “My Mirror” was made possible with the support of Artur Vanetsyan. His representative, attorney Sos Hakobyan, spoke about their collaboration:

"We live in an era of fleeting news cycles and mass-produced content, so it’s crucial to support those who create lasting cultural and literary value. Writers help us understand the world around us in a beautifully expressive way. Avet’s poem “Go”, for example, recently went viral, resonating deeply with many. Talented individuals don’t always have strong principles, but Avet does. He is consistent, critical, and unafraid to speak up about the events of our time. This is essential for society’s progress. Such voices should be heard, as they help people distinguish right from wrong, truth from illusion. That’s why Artur Vanetsyan didn’t hesitate to support this initiative."

Since its release, “My Mirror” has generated significant interest and has been in high demand among readers.
