Newmag and the Tovmasyan Foundation Announce a New Literary Competition

Applications will be accepted from March 1 to April 30, 2025. This initiative aims to discover and support emerging writers, providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity and use literature as a powerful tool for self-expression.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is open to writers aged 18-35 residing in Armenia. Submissions must be original prose works written in an artistic style.

Submission Requirements:

Applicants must submit the following documents:

• Autobiography (PDF)
• Author’s photo (JPEG)
• Copy of an identity document
• Excerpt from a literary work (15-30 pages, Word document)

Competition Rules:

• Each author may submit only one work.
• The submitted work must not have been previously published.
• The text must be written in Armenian, font size 12, line spacing 1.15.
• If selected, the full manuscript must be at least 80 pages.

Submissions should be sent to [email protected], including contact information in the email. The subject line must be: “For the Literary Contest.”

Deadline for applications: April 30, 2025.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Structural integrity
• Refinement of language and style
• Creative and ideological originality

Award & Winner Announcement:

The winner will be announced at the Newmag Summer Festival in June 2025. The selected author’s work will be published by Newmag, with all publishing costs covered.
