Aznavour’s books translated and published by Newmag reached to French Clamart town (photos)

Clamart is located 10 kilometers southwest of Paris. This green city is considered to be a cozy cultural center in the heart of Europe. Artashat and Clamart are sister cities. Artashat Square was opened in Clamart several years ago. It is one of the most Armenian-populated cities in France, with a large Armenian community and active cultural life. On October 1st a concert hall named after Charles Aznavour was opened in the conservatory of Clamart. Some of the most famous songs of Aznavour were performed that day.

The Mayor of Clamart, the ambassador of Armenia in France, Aznavour’s son and other honorable guests, such as senators and mayors took part in the commemoration event. Hundreds of representatives of the Armenian community were also present. 

   

“A 100% French and a 100% Armenian” - The great artist had an immense input in the French-Armenian friendship and the cooperative framework between the two countries. In her speech, Ambassador Hasmik Tolmajyan referred to Aznavour's immense contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Despite the historically difficult challenges that our people faced throughout the years, Aznavour had an unwavering faith in the revival of Armenia and its future.

On October 2, the traditional "Armenia and Artsakh Day" event took place in Clamart. During the fair, Armenian organizations operating in France presented their mission and various souvenirs. This year, the Aznavour Foundation participated in the fair for the first time, presenting the cultural heritage left by the great artist. 

The visitors had the opportunity to support the foundation's programs, to take with them souvenirs signed by Misha Aznavour. Author of more than 1000 songs, Aznavour has also authored more than a dozen books, which include numerous stories from his exceptionally interesting and inspiring life.

Starting from 2018, Newmag presents his books in Armenian twice a year, on Aznavour's birthday and on the date,  he passed away. During the fair visitors also got the chance to get Aznavour’s books published by Newmag publishing house.

On the anniversary of Aznavour's death, Newmag Publishing House is organizing a commemoration event for the third year now. On October 8, Newmag will present in Armenian Aznavour’s 6th book. Additionally, the Armenian version of one of his most famous songs will be premiered.
