In 2020, Newmag published Charles Aznavour’s “Tant Que Battra Mon Coeur” book. This unique autobiography includes various unwritten stories about the extraordinary life of the great artist. In his book, Aznavour presents his reflections and thoughts about

Another piece of advice is to live away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Instead, he suggests finding a cozy place, where nature is close to the human nature. That is exactly what he did. In a private house in the south-west of France, he was growing olives, creating music, and reading books.

Right in front of the entrance, a "Garden of Yerevan" sign greeted the visitors. The olives in his garden are several hundred years old. Annually, those olives produced around 300-500 liters of oil. It sometimes appeared on the tables of the Elysee Palace.

“This olive is around 1000 years old. It is still fruitful. That’s simply incredible.”

Aznavour spent the last 30 years of his life in this house.

“I have nothing expensive in this house, instead, everything here is valuable, because I love them, I value them. If thieves decide to rob my house, they will be deeply disappointed.”

An important part of Aznavour's house was his large and unique library. The journalists who visited his house once mentioned that Aznavour had a "book bulimia". In his autobiography, Aznavour described the library as a temple.

“I have not read everything yet. I have all the books by Cocteau, Shakespeare, Cornell, Racine. After all, I create. Therefore, I need keys for creativity. When I'm about to die, I want to fall on my desk. I wouldn’t really want to die in bed ... I love people who disappear unexpectedly...”

On October 1, 2018, the gardener unexpectedly found Aznavour in his bathroom… For two years already, the cemetery at Montfort-l'Amaury has become a sacred place for people who admired Aznavour.
