A favorite novel of Americans and a masterpiece of the 20th century, “Gone with the wind” is already available in Armenian, the best-selling and most read book of all time, the most romantic love drama, the most epic historical novel and bestseller. Durin

The first volume of the novel “Gone with the wind” which is considered to be of great literary value, will soon appear in bookstores. According to the head of the publishing house Artak Aleksanyan, they were surprised to find out that this monumental work has never been translated into Armenian, while at this stage the publication of such literary works is very important. “After the war, there are mothers, sisters, daughters-in-law that lost their sons, who should be given literature that will show the formula for living. In this book, he's the American spirit, to live no matter how hard it is to cling to the ground, to fight for his land. After all, Scarlett was ready to do anything to preserve her ancestral land.

The author of "Gone with the Wind" started writing at the age of 26, starting from the last chapters. The author of the book created the image of the famous Scarlett, inspired by his grandmother. The original version of the book was called “Tomorrow will be another day.” But at the last minute, the title of the book becomes “Gone with the Wind.” Armenian version verifier Tatik Baghdasaryan remembers the book's quotes. “I'll think about that tomorrow… This book is for girls. The features of the main character and other heroes can teach a lot to teenagers aged 15 to 17.”

Until the last minute, Margaret demanded that the publisher return it because it was incomplete. But the publisher prints it. In the summer of 1936, the book appeared in bookstores, and although it was expensive - three dollars, it sold one million copies by December. Translator Anush Sedrakyan admits: if she did not translate the book, she would definitely be offended. “It is a successful attempt at the psychological presentation of a woman's character. Margaret Mitchell decided to present Scarlett as a negative one. Melanie was the positive character. Melanie will become the representative of the south, the cult image. But she was pleasantly surprised when he found out that everyone loves Scarlett.”

With her only book, Margaret Mitchell shared with the world the story of Scarlett O'Hara and Red Butler, the most impressive couple in world literature. She was as beautiful, original and legendary as the heroine she created. He sponsored the construction of cruise ships, secretly paid for the education of black students, notes the book's editor Anna Bakhshyan. “It is a symbolic novel. With all its peculiarities, it's just that this is the author's only novel.

Betrayal, passion, love, war. This is a book about freedom, love, and achieving dreams. The book is often referred to as the American “War and Peace.” Scarlett is one of the most controversial literary heroes, Anush Sedrakyan emphasizes. “Scarlett does everything that is difficult for our society, and for the south of that time. Woman business, taking an immoral step.”

Not only was the novel epic, but also the film based on the novel. Six million dollars were spent to portray the heroine Mitchell, an all-American casting was announced, in which 1400 actresses participated. The film's producer, David Selznick, and the book's author, Margaret Mitchell, chose Vivienne Lee. The actress could not speak the southern dialect, but it was her who was chosen for that role. It premiered in December 1939, but not in Hollywood: in Atlanta, so that the author of the book could also participate.
