When in the 1990s Putin was invited to work in the Kremlin, no one could have imagined that he was going to make history. Who is Putin, who are his teammates? How did an ordinary civil servant become the head of the state? “All the Kremlin’s Men” presents the history of the last 20 years of Russian history, including the Chechen war, the operation of destroying terrorist groups, the hard relationships with Georgia and Ukraine. The translator of the book David Sargsyan notes that eventually, Putin managed to get Russia back on its feet. “We don’t really acknowledge the depth of decision-making processes. We tend to believe that Putin is behind all the decisions made in the Kremlin. In fact, there are numerous influential individuals, who lead to those crucial decisions.”

The author wrote this book for a long period of time. He spoke to people, who have worked with Putin on a daily basis. Zygar’s book brought up various controversies in Russia and in the world. In this book the author often shares quite surprising discoveries about the political cuisine of the Kremlin. David Sargsyan assures that “All the Kremlin’s Men” is a book that you will read in one breath. “Firstly, you will learn a lot about the decision-making process. For instance, the Olympic games were held in Sochi. Putin wasn’t really interested in this event, but the people around him organized such a campaign, that eventually he was persuaded.”

How Yeltsin stepped down, how Putin came to power and who influences the decision-making process in the Kremlin? The author of the book Mikhail Zygar presents little-known facts special for Newmag. “The current system is quite unstable. It may seem strange that the core reason for the instability is the so-called super-stability. This system doesn’t have a logical continuation. It is based on people, rather than on institutions.”

A book-confession filled with black humor and sincerity. The editor of the Armenian publication is Tatevik Nalbandyan. She assures that in this book the reader will discover new layers of Russsian history and politics. “Author’s advantage is that he doesn’t present the story in terms of conspiracy theories. He predominantly uses a humane language.”

Newmag Publishing House translated this book in cooperation with Oracle. The head of “Oracle” Armenian-Russian book series Ruben Ishkhanyan promises that they will continue to publish exclusive contemporary books about the modern history of Russia.   “People say that this book is for liberals. 70 percent of the book is based on facts; the other 30 percent is his subjective viewpoint. The book is written based on numerous exclusive interviews.”

Book critics call “All the Kremlin’s Men” an exceptional research, which is the most profound work of the last 20 years. The book is a two-time Runet Prize winner; it has been named as the best digital book. The Armenian translation of the book is available on newmag.am website and in the bookstores.
