“Munich. The Last Station” memoir is one of the latest books of Newmag Publishing House. It is a life story based on significant events of the time. The author of the book is Rima Khachatryan, an honored pedagogue of Armenia, who passed away last year.
Born and raised in a modest family of genocide survivors, Rima Khachatryan has created an exemplary biography due to her natural abilities, diligence and purposefulness. With a care typical for pedagogues, she wrote about simple and lasting memories of her time.
In 1960, Rima Khachatryan graduated from the Department of Biochemistry at Khachatur Abovyan State Pedagogical Institute. For 55 years she worked in Yerevan Basic Medical College and led the trade union of the college for several decades. She authored two textbooks for the students of medical colleges. For her significant contribution to the development of the nursery education system in Armenia Rima Khachatryan was awarded national and trade union medals.
Rima Khachatryan believed that the best things in life are created by hardships and suffering. The characters and stories of the book prove this belief to be true. The book reflects the life and thoughts of Armenians in the second half of the last century. It reflects the psychology and wisdom of a working man. Characters differ from one other in temperament, worldview and attitude towards reality.
The “Munich. The Last Station” memoir contains imaginary motives and incidents, collective characters, which, however, do not significantly affect the course of the story, are subject to the general realization of logic.
