A television series adaptation is currently in production, drawing inspiration from Narine Abgaryan's novel "Simon." This novel emerged victorious in the 2021 "Big Book" literary competition through readers' choice. The filming process for the series has

The story of Simon and each of his wives was collected by Narine Abgaryan and included in her novel "Simon". At first, it was a short story, then it became a novel.

With her unique finesse and literary cleverness, Narine Abgaryan transforms an ordinary womanizer into the central figure of her novel. Around his grave, past lovers gather to share wine, recount tales, and reflect on their lives, knitting together a poignant blend of tragedy and comedy about the life of the small town's denizens. The inspiration for Simon came from her mother's stories, relayed to Abgaryan. The genesis of this narrative traces back to a memorial service, where the attendees engaged in spirited discussions surrounding the departed. Several months later, Abgaryan started to write what she had heard.

This extraordinary and real story, which has turned into a colorful book, will now also have its screen version. The family story "Simon" takes place in the author's hometown, Berd.

The role of the womanizer Simon will be portrayed by Hrant Tokhatyan in the film adaptation. Joining the cast are Olga Kabo, Alyona Khmelnitskaya, Irina Bezrukova, and Alika Smekhova: they will bring Simon’s women to life on screen. Mikayel Aramyan, a Russian-born Armenian actor, along with Tatyana Khramova, Maria Akhmetsianova, Mano Mariam, and Sofia Doniants, will depict Simon and his wives during their younger ages. Arman Marutyan, known for directing "Manyunya," will be the director of the series.

The premiere date is not yet known, but you won't have to wait long for "Simon" to be shown on TV.
