This book is breaking stereotypes, changing mindsets, and becoming irreplaceable work toward the dizzying reality of the 21st century. Newmag presents an international bestseller: “Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow” book. The book presentation was aired on

This is the most scientific, yet the most popular book about our future. Harari warns: the era of Homo Sapiens is over. “Homo Deus” is Harari’s third bestseller after the “Sapiens” and “21 Lessons for the 21st Century” books. Tatev Nalbandyan, the editor of the book, notices that the author makes several outstanding discoveries in his book.

“The concept of immortality will be destructive. By saying this Harari means that artificial intelligence and the development of high technologies will eventually enslave human beings.”

The dark reality and the prediction of a darker future apply to all mankind. However, Harari claims that the predictions in his book are just possible scenarios, rather than a prophecy. Tatevik Nalbanyan points out that those predictions can actually prevent irreversible events before it is too late.

“If I quote something from the book, you may think that I am reading a script for a sci-fi Hollywood movie. In reality, it is a real story about civilization and human development.”

Mass unemployment will eventually change humankind and the world. Harari predicts that in this fast-changing world people will have to acquire several specializations during their lifetime. The book translator, Liana Zakaryan, assures that besides the dark predictions, the author also gives possible solutions.

“Harari claims that human beings have the right to choose how they want the future to look like. He provides several scenarios and gives us the freedom to make our own choices.”

For the first time, more people die from eating too much than from eating too little; more people die from old age than from infectious diseases, and more people commit suicide than are killed in wars. The editor of Newmag publishing house, Gnel Nalbandyan, characterizes the book as a “pop-science”.

In two years 6 million copies of the “Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow” bestseller was sold. The book has been translated into 50 languages, including Armenian. Newmag published the Armenian edition of the book with the support of the Galaxy group of companies.

“It is important for the co-founders of the Galaxy group of companies to convey these innovative and contemporary ideas to the Armenian reader. Galaxy is a future-oriented, people-centered company and that is why we firmly believe that it is essential to have these books in Armenian as well.”

Literary critics assure that Homo Deus will blow your mind and make you think out of the box. On the other hand, Harari suggests that humanity is driven by curiosity: a natural, yet dangerous desire to discover the unknown.
