TV Presentation of “Manyunya” - A Book Full of Warm and Fun Adventures (photos, video in Armenian)

Childhood without smartphones and gadgets, full of adventures and funny stories. Newmag published Narine Abgaryan’s famous trilogy with a brand new editing, proofreading and design. The first part -“Manyunya” is already here. A story about Narine’s friend and her crazy adventures. A unique addition to the story is Ta’s advice and strictness. How a Russian-speaking fiery haired girl turned into an Armenian-speaking girl with brown hair? Editor of the book Lily Hovhannes has smiled through all the book. “While re-editing the book we have added some annotations, which will make it easier for children to fully understand some specific terms, which mainly describe the Soviet times.”

 

The book represents the childhood of the Soviet generation. Narine’s warm childhood memories will move the reader to Berd, Tavush. The translator of “Manyunya” was also born and raised in Berd. They were in the same class. Narine’s mother was the translator’s teacher of Russian language. Narine Gijlatyan has not changed anything in the unique dialect of the dialogues. “I gave the book to my children and asked them to read certain pages, then tell me what their impressions were. So basically children aged 10 and older can read this book.”

“Manyunya” is Narine Abgaryan’s first book. Before being published, the first lines of the book were posted on social media. Newmag published the book in the scope of the “Oracle” book series. The head of the series Ruben Ishkhanyan claims that “Manyunya” is a very good starting point for making children love reading books. 

 “It’s a misleading statement that the book is only for children and teenagers. In fact, each and every one of us can find our childhood in this story.” On the day of the book presentation, in Russia the “Manyunya” TV series will be released. Additionally, Newmag has already started to work on the second part of the trilogy.
