Amelie Notomb (born 1966) comes from a noble family in Etterbeek, Belgium. Her father, Patrick Notomb, was a diplomat. That is why Amelie traveled a lot during her childhood. She was in China, USA, Laos, Myanmar, Japan, Bangladesh. Young Notomb was admitted to the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Brussels. After 5 years, Amelie, full of dreams, went to conquer Tokyo. However, she soon realizesd that the new job is not what she dreamed of. And she starts writing. In 1992, at the age of 26, she published her first novel, "Hygiene and the Murderer", after which a new book was published every year. Amelie's novels are bestsellers and have been translated into several languages. She is a laureate of the Belgian state award and a baroness. the title was awarded to her by King Philippe of Belgium. She wrote the novel "Bluebeard" in 2012.
