Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan (born 1961) is a member of the hierarchal order of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a spiritual, public and intellectual activist. From 1988 to 1994, he studied at the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary. In 1995, His Holiness Karekin I ordained him a celibate priest. From 1998 to 2000, he was the superintendent of the Vazgenyan Seminary in Sevan. In 2002, he was appointed Head of the Press, Information and Public Relations Office of the Mother See and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shoghakat TV Company. From 2003 to 2013, Galstanyan was the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Canada. In 2013, he was appointed Director of the Office for Ecclesiastical Conceptual Issues at the Mother See. Since 2015, he has been the Primate of the Tavush Diocese, and since 2017, a member of the Supreme Spiritual Council. In 2024, he founded the "Holy Struggle" civil movement, of which he is the leader.
