Pascal Bruckner (born 1948) is a French writer, philosopher, and public figure. He has lectured at various universities in the United States and France. He began his literary career in the 1970s. By the 1980s, he was already a well-known intellectual in France. Bruckner is known for his insightful criticism. He explores the paradoxes of love and freedom, and the value contradictions of society. His most famous works are "My Little Husband", "The Thieves of Beauty". The famous erotic film "Bitter Moon" was filmed by Roman Polanski based on his novel "Poisonous Chains". Pascal Bruckner is an active defender of the interests of Armenia and Artsakh in France. He is a member of the jury of the prestigious French "Goncourt" Prize. In 2024, he participated in the grand ceremony in Yerevan, during which Newmag announced the establishment of the "Goncourt Armenia" prize.
