Robert Penn Warren
Robert Penn Warren (1905–89), American poet, novelist, and literary critic, one of the founders of the New Criticism literary movement. In 1935, he founded the influential journal Southern Review with Clint Brooks. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1947 for his novel The King's Men (1946), and in 1958 and 1979 for his poetry collections. He is the only writer to have won the Pulitzer Prize for both prose and poetry.
