Suren Baghdasaryan
Suren Baghdasaryan (b. 1940) graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1969. At the age of 21, in 1961, he won the competition of sports commentators, but he commented for the first time only 10 years later, in 1971. In 1973, reportages of all "Ararat" matches were broadcast on Armenian radio and television only with the commentary of Suren Baghdasaryan. It was that year that "Ararat" achieved a Golden Double, becoming the USSR champion and cup winner. Suren Baghdasaryan has been a sports journalist for over 50 years. He headed the FFA press service for 6 years. He was the deputy executive director of the FFA, a member of the FFA executive committee for 8 years. In 1996, he founded the "Football+" weekly newspaper. He is the only representative of Armenia who votes every year in the jury of the "Golden Ball" award ceremony of France Football.
