Vigen Jakokajyan
Vigen Jakokajyan (born 1952) had hoped to become a journalist during his student years, but adult life had a different course for him. The grandson of genocide survivors joined the national-political underground movement in the 1970s, for which he was expelled from Yerevan State University. During the Soviet years, Vigen was forced to do various temporary jobs to avoid the label of “savage” and the article. Later, he continued his studies at the Yerevan Trade and Economic College. He received the profession of a cook and worked in the public catering sector. During the days of the Artsakh movement, Jakokajyan volunteered to the front, was seriously wounded and went to Moscow for treatment, where he settled. Since 1995, he has worked in the field of supplying medical equipment, becoming the director of logistics.
