The Italian writer who is a fan of Inter and Mkhitaryan (video)
The modern Italian writer Giovanni Dozzini wrote the novel "Here I Should Stay" in 2021. The author gained recognition as a notable figure in contemporary Italian literature across Europe following the publication of the novel about migration.
It turns out that Giovanni Dozzini is a fan of Inter and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Dozzini told Newmag about his football preferences. "Mkhitaryan is also an Armenian football hero. I am very happy that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be able to read my book in Armenian. I would love to give him a copy of my book. Will you help me?"
Giovanni Dotsini has already seen the Armenian version of his novel "Here I Should Stay". He is waiting for the reaction of Armenian readers, and especially Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He has never been to Armenia, but he promised to come to Armenia if possible. "I am very happy that my book is being published in Armenian, it is a wonderful country, where I have never been, and I would like to be there one day. I am very proud that the people of that distant country will be able to read my book in their language. The main character of my novel comes from a family that believes in the idea of a better world, a socialist world, that communism will be a better solution for humanity. Then it turns out that it is impossible. Your country has lived under the conditions of that failed experiment for decades."
Dozzini says that several years have passed since the publication of the book, but the problems he raised have not changed. "It is not easy in my city, in my country, and in Europe. Italy is one of the doors to Europe, and the island of Lampedusa is the gate of Europe, I have been there, and Africa can be seen from that island. Immigrants come to Italy, but most want to go to northern Europe, to richer regions. Italians, like other peoples of the West, have started to live worse in the last 15 years. This makes everyone angry. People see the poor coming all the time and think that their problems come from migrants, not from institutions that poorly organize public life. It's easy to be angry with the poor."
Giovanni Dozzini's latest novel was published in April of this year. It is called "The American Prisoner". The events take place during the Second World War. Now the writer is working on another book, he has not disclosed the details yet, and he has not decided whether it will be a big novel or a small one.
