Over the past five years, Newmag has translated and published all the legendary Charles Aznavour's books, from autobiographies to collections of short stories. Only the book of poetry remained, where the chansonnier had hand-picked and inserted 500 songs about the first serious creative steps, as well as songs written at the sunset of life. Thanks to the huge translation work of the publishing house, Aznavour was deeply recognized in Armenia, with the whole range.
"New country", "Love and war", "For you, Armenia" and "I'm not leaving..." - these are the titles of the volumes of Aznavour's poetry, which the publishing house has carefully chosen, remaining faithful to the handwriting and spirit of the world-famous artist: to establish a new branch within Armenian literature, named Aznavourian.
The reader will get acquainted with the joint works of Aznavour-Karvarents, Aznavour-Legrand, Aznavour-Trenet and will discover the song "Tender Armenia" written by Aznavour’s brothers and sisters. You can also read Aznavour's work "When You Love Me" in Armenian, which is one of the 30 arias of the first and only chansonnier musical. The songs "When You Love Me" and "I'm Afraid" became more popular from the Lautrec musical, which took separate wings from the musical comedy and found a place in the playlist of Aznavour's fans. Aznavour also recorded them with his performance. In this volume, you will find the song "Tender Armenia" written by Aznavour’s brothers and sisters: the song is about contemporary Armenia.
The main partner of "I'm not leaving..." book and the Aznavour series is Amundi-Acba Asset Management, which has been with Newmag for the last 5 years to implement Aznavour's special project. The TV presentation of the 4th part of the poetry will take place on January 26, within the framework of the Morning Show of Armenia TV.
