Tigran Hayrapetyan-60. Political predictions that came true (video)

On this special day, March 18, we commemorate the birthday of the esteemed political scientist, Tigran Hayrapetyan, who will have celebrated his 60th birthday today. Despite his untimely departure, Hayrapetyan's impact remains enduring. A gifted orator an

Within the pages of these volumes lies a treasure trove of Hayrapetyan's astute observations and sagacious analyses. His visionary perspectives hold the potential to shape not only public discourse but also serve as the cornerstone for societal ideals and even state ideologies. Through his prolific political and philosophical writings, Hayrapetyan has sown the seeds of enlightenment, offering guidance and foresight to generations to come.

What the political analyst wrote and talked about now seems like a prophecy. Loss of territories liberated in the first Artsakh war, a threat to the territorial integrity of RA.

"For those who are interested, I wrote about what will happen in 1999, and why that atmosphere will be created, I am afraid that the series of tragedies will continue if serious and concrete conclusions are not reached. We are talking about the part of the government that is responsible for security. Again, there is a power in the government that says there is no game against us. There is always a game against us because we are a small state. We are in regional games. if the government does not understand this, there will be big problems."

We have singled out a few thoughts from the 4th volume of Tigran Hayrapetyan's "A Thousand Years of Desert". Two years ago, Newmag began publishing his rich legacy of articles and analysis. Hayrapetyan's written archive will be completed with the 5th volume.

Democracy is inevitable.

Armenia will be an island of democracy. There is a political logic. Because there are no democratic systems around us. According to the logic of the end of the twentieth century, the function of redistribution of maps is always placed on democracies.

Armenian's last mind must become the first.

The essence of American democracy stands apart from its French or German counterparts in fundamental ways. While the World Bank was ostensibly established to promote democratic values, its intervention in various nations has often been marred by violence and unrest. The allure of monetary gain presents a potent temptation, akin to the biblical admonition to resist temptation at all costs. As Christians, we are urged to resist such temptations and "cut off our right hand." But we continue to be tempted.

They will teach you, if you don't want it, they will force you.

In the Soviet army they used to say: "Не умеешь - научим не хочешь - заставим". It is the same in politics. Because you have a function to perform, you have a historical homeland to liberate, you must have a democratic system and a national army. If the system did not become democratic, look at the history of the last fifty years: who got land and kept it? Оnly the democrats.

Without optimism

So far there is no optimism, it is worrying that there are calls from the liberal-democratic wing: calls to boycott the elections, they don't want to go to farce. There were also boycotted elections in Belarus, there are alternative parliaments, but let's get it right, they are big, there are many of them, the Russian Federation is next to them, and they are already in Europe. We cannot afford such extravagance; we must be rational. A boycott is not the best option. The authorities must understand. Nobody wants farcical elections. If we don’t find a way out, they will find it instead of us.
