Newmag Presents the 5th Volume of Tigran Hayrapetyan’s Publicistic Legacy, “The Last Autumn” (Trailer)
04/03/2025
On April 5, Newmag will present the final book in Tigran Hayrapetyan’s publicistic legacy, “The Last Autumn”. This volume includes his editorials, unfinished articles, interviews, analyses, and previously unpublished writings.
Tigran Hayrapetyan often mentioned that the song “The Last Autumn” by DDT was one of his favorites. In a poignant coincidence, the title of that song became the name of the last book of his life.
Published by Newmag, “The Last Autumn” is the fifth volume of Hayrapetyan’s publicistic and analytical works. His writings not only serve as valuable reflections on the past but also contain predictions that, in many cases, have since become reality. Alongside his political and analytical essays, this volume also features Hayrapetyan’s artistic works, revealing another dimension of his intellectual and creative pursuits.
A commemorative event dedicated to Tigran Hayrapetyan’s life and work will take place on April 5 at 3:00 PM at the AGBU. The book will be presented by Nazeni Gharibyan, the intellectual property rights holder of Hayrapetyan’s works; Ashot Bleyan, director of the “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational complex; actor and director Zohrab Bek-Gasparents, one of Hayrapetyan’s close friends; and Mikael Badalyan, who digitized his manuscripts.
Following the book presentation, the winner of the 2025 “Tigran Hayrapetyan” award for the best political-analytical publication will be announced, along with the recipients of the annual “Tigran Hayrapetyan” award from the “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” educational complex.
Few people know that Hayrapetyan was also a painter. His paintings and personal belongings will be displayed at the event, offering a glimpse into another side of his creative legacy.
Admission to the presentation is free, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the book at a special discounted price.
“The Last Autumn” was published with the financial support of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The fourth volume of Tigran Hayrapetyan's political science analyses brings together articles in which the author, with astonishing accuracy, diagnosed the internal and external threats threatening Armenia back in the 1990s and predicted possible disasters. In this volume, Tigran Hayrapetyan raises many troubling questions related to the foundations of newly independent Armenia, from the state governance system formed in the early 1990s to the importance of a balanced perception of freedom and responsibility.
In the materials collected in the first three volumes, the author presented the problems of Armenia and the region, the ambitions of geopolitical centers, and the role of Armenia in these processes. He gave the answer to the question "What should be done to get the country out of a difficult situation?"
In this volume, the author analyzes the possible prospects of Armenia, considering them in the context of the contradictions of war and peace, democracy and dictatorship. The articles and analyses collected in the book are extremely relevant, especially in our difficult times.

Description
The third volume of Tigran Hayrapetyan's book contains the answers to his questions raised in the first two volumes. In the first two volumes, the author accurately, almost prophetically, diagnoses the problems facing Armenia and the region today. He discusses the ambitions of the West and the East and the role of Armenia in their plans. In this volume, the author's articles are collected, in which he seeks answers and gives the answer to the question "What should be done to get the country out of a difficult situation?" In this volume, Tigran Hayrapetyan presented 5 options for settling the Artsakh problem, analyzed all the details, juxtaposed the facts, examples of world history and historical experience, and came up with the best solution for Armenia. In the book, more than 25 years before the 44-day war, the author predicted in which direction the enemy would attack Armenia, and what should be done to resist.

The ideological core of the 2nd volume of Tigran Hayrapetyan's works is the revolution of the world with the specter of a possible new, great war. Tigran wrote about Russia, the West and the Middle East which are the most important test for the Armenian state. In the 1st part called "Russian Rebellion or the Ghost of the Returning Empire", the political scientist analyzes Russia's past and present, predicts future realities: the new interstate union, the role of Armenia, expectations and global risks. In the 2nd part called "The Geopolitical Trap", the author reflects on the direction of the American political course since the collapse of the USSR, the end of European unity, the logic of inter-ethnic conflicts and the marked boundaries of the new world order, the borderline between war and peace.

Description
Tigran Hayrapetyan’s political science analyses and essays, which are included in this book, are published in a collection for the first time. His written legacy is still relevant decades after his death. What the political scientist and analyst wrote and spoke about now seems like a prophecy: the loss of the territories liberated in the first Artsakh war, the threat to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. In his publications, he predicted the resignation of Levon Ter-Petrosyan and the assassination of Vazgen Sargsyan. Politicians believe that Tigran Hayrapetyan’s political science and philosophical articles and analyses can become the soil of the collective ideal of society, even the basis of state ideology.
