In celebration of Book Giving Day, Newmag Publishing House is organizing a grand book and art festival in Yerevan. Newmag Winter Fest 2025 will take place on February 16 and promises an exciting blend of literature, music, and cultural events.
At a press conference hosted by Armenpress, Newmag’s Editor-in-Chief Gnel Nalbandyan and Head of Literary Programs Ani Hakobyan unveiled the festival’s program.
The State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia will open the festival with a spectacular performance. The event will also feature concerts by Syuzanna Melkonyan and Gor Sujyan, who will headline the gala concert. Since the festival highlights authors from Artsakh, the “Voices of Artsakh” ensemble will perform, bringing the spirit and culture of Artsakh to the stage.
The festival will feature the launch of four new books and one guide:
- Hermine Avagyan’s "Farewell Eyes" – A collection of short stories reflecting on the Artsakh war, displacement, and the hope of return.
- Tsovinar Barkhudaryan’s "The Last Red Lipstick" – A deeply personal and moving account of the author’s experiences and the stories of twelve women who endured the painful journey of migration.
- Syune Sevada’s "Metal of Courage" – An urban novel about those searching for happiness in the unknown.
- Avet Barseghyan’s poetry collection, "Mirror" – A long-awaited collection of poems by the beloved songwriter and poet. After the book presentation, Nazeni Hovhannisyan, Hrachuhi Utmazyan, and Varsham Gevorgyan will bring the poet’s words to life through readings.
In addition to book presentations, the festival will host panel discussions, exhibitions, and a gala concert.
- “Towards a Unique Publication: The Rise of Armenian Tech and the Polytechnic” – A discussion on the nearly century-long history of the Armenian Polytechnic University and its role in shaping the country’s technological landscape. This event is tied to an upcoming Newmag publication.
- “A Year After the Bestseller: Meeting with the Newmag Quartet” – A special discussion featuring the four bestselling authors from last year’s Winter Fest.
- Exclusive Offers & Meet-the-Authors Sessions - Meet your favorite authors and get signed copies of their books.
- Enjoy up to 40% discounts on all books sold at the festival.
Entrance is free, making this an unmissable event for all book lovers. Join us at Dvin Music Hall on February 16 for a full day of literature, music, and art.
