Newmag Publishing House, in partnership with the Mantashyants Entrepreneurs Union, has released the Armenian translation of “Be Useful: 7 Rules for Life” by legendary actor, bodybuilder, politician, and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The book was introduced to the public during Armenia TV’s “Good Morning” morning program.
Anna Abrahamyan, the translator of the book, noted that Schwarzenegger’s style is remarkably clear, simple, and engaging for a wide range of readers.
“Translation is always a creative process. When you create something of your own, it comes more naturally, but recreating someone else’s voice can be challenging. In this case, though, the book flowed effortlessly. It’s written in a very accessible language. Perhaps that’s just the talent of a great leader, he knows how to speak to people in a relatable way.”
The book’s title, “Be Useful”, isn’t just a catchy phrase, it encapsulates Schwarzenegger’s life philosophy. Abrahamyan recalls coming across a particularly memorable line in the original German, “Wenn schon, denn schon”, which she translated as “If you’re going to do something, do it as well as you possibly can.” She says this mindset defines Schwarzenegger’s approach to everything he does.
Armen Episkoposyan, international master of sports, fitness trainer, and a member of Armenia’s National Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, shared his admiration for the book, recommending it not only to athletes but to anyone seeking personal growth.
“Schwarzenegger is a living legend. Watching him inspired me to start training, to grow stronger. This book isn’t just about sports, it’s a guide to life. It maps out his personal journey from growing up in modest, cramped conditions to becoming a global icon, all through sheer willpower and discipline. One of his most powerful messages is this: set a goal and never lose sight of it.”
Episkoposyan believes the book emphasizes the importance of resilience, dedication, and character, all of which are developed through sport and self-discipline.
The main partner of the Armenian edition is the Mantashyants Entrepreneurs Union. Its founding president, Vahram Mirakyan, emphasized that Schwarzenegger is a role model not just for athletes, but for leaders across all fields.
“He didn’t stop at being a world champion in bodybuilding. He became the highest-paid actor in Hollywood and then the governor of California, the largest state in the U.S. If he had been born in America, I’m convinced he would’ve run for president.”
According to Mirakyan, the book promotes a “culture of winning”, a mindset he believes Armenia needs to foster.
“Schwarzenegger inspired an entire generation. This book has the power to motivate thousands of readers here in Armenia, showing them that hard work, vision, and persistence can lead to great success in any field.”

Description
The seven rules to follow to realize your true purpose in life—distilled by Arnold Schwarzenegger from his own journey of ceaseless reinvention and extraordinary achievement, and available for absolutely anyone.
The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident.
Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful. As Arnold conquered every realm he entered, he kept his father’s adage close to his heart.
Written with his uniquely earnest, blunt, powerful voice, Be Useful takes readers on an inspirational tour through Arnold’s tool kit for a meaningful life. He shows us how to put those tools to work, in service of whatever fulfilling future we can dream up for ourselves. He brings his insights to vivid life with compelling personal stories, life-changing successes and life-threatening failures alike—some of them famous; some told here for the first time ever.
Too many of us struggle to disconnect from our self-pity and connect to our purpose. At an early age, Arnold forged the mental tools to build the ladder out of the poverty and narrow-mindedness of his rural Austrian hometown, tools he used to add rung after rung from there. Now he shares that wisdom with all of us. As he puts it, no one is going to come rescue you—you only have yourself. The good news, it turns out, is that you are all you need.
