Newmag presented the 10th and the last book of the Aznavourian series: poetry, part 4, within the framework of the Morning Show on Armenia TV. "I'm not leaving." Over the past five years, Newmag and Amundi-Acba Asset Management have translated and publish
Samvel Gasparyan, the translator of the book, shares a unique connection with Aznavour, to the extent that people often mistake him for the iconic artist and take a picture with him. Edward Militonyan once said to him: “It's like you are the translation of Aznavour”. "I always thank Newmag that it was me who translated Aznavour, although others could have done it as well. Aznavour is very close to me, I knew him, I read a lot about him, I heard a lot. During translations, I often talk with him, even argue. It is difficult to translate honestly, but if you know his life, it is easy, because his works are his life. In 2010, a volume with 531 songs from poetry collections was published, Aznavour chose them from 1300 songs. We have translated about 500. It is a huge work, the year had two seasons for me, the days of Aznavour's death and birthday because we published one book on the day of his death, and one book on his birthday."
Samvel Gasparyan says that Newmag has done a fantastic job, and they will continue that work. He advises especially those in love to read this volume. The book will also give life lessons to those who experience love in adulthood. "To the surprise of noble lovers, he called his songs poetry, because he valued speech. In this volume, Aznavour is mature, I often compare him with Tumanyan's philosophical quatrains. It was a revelation for me, for example, "Tender Armenia". Open page 331 and read, it is Aznavour, the words will tell everything about him. Aznavour is the singer of all lovers. He once said: I will always stay, because I sing the love of an 18-year-old, and everyone lives that love. Aznavour was the last Mohican of the golden age of French chanson."
"I'm not leaving" Aznavour's volume also includes the famous chansonnier song "When you love me". It is one of the 30 arias of the only musical written by Aznavour. Hasmik Arakelyan, the editor of the book, says that such a large number of Aznavour songs have never been translated and published in Armenian. "A great work was done, we were in great feelings and emotions, because you cannot translate Aznavour mechanically. Newmag did this work at the initiative of Artak Aleksanyan, which is highly appreciated, but over time we will understand even better what a great work was done, because Aznavour belongs to everyone. We all need to know Aznavour in detail."
All of Aznavour's songs are about love, like different manifestations of love. Aznavour also said that he writes every day, he never gets tired of love, of talking about love. Newmag translated and published all of Aznavour's works in Armenian together with Amundi-Acba Asset Management Company. Zarine Yeghiazaryan, head of marketing and communications of Amundi-Acba Asset Management Company, hopes that one day Samvel Gasparyan, Artak Aleksanyan, and Hasmik Arakelyan will talk more about the great work done during these five years.
