Newmag Publishing House and "Yeraz Projects" invite everyone to "Yeraz Park" on Saturday, August 24, to participate in the "BACK TO SCHOOL" children's book festival. On that day, three new books will be presented.
According to Gohar Manukyan, head of the "Yeraz"
series, in addition to the book presentations, a rich cultural evening is scheduled,
featuring performances by various musical performers. "We are very
happy that the
State Symphony Orchestra has joined us this time and created a very
interesting program. In addition, there will be developmental games held from 5
to 6 pm."
The festival organizers also promise many surprises. At the
event, students from the "Orran" charity organization will perform
two songs, and students from the Song Theater of the Stepanakert Children's and
Youth Creative Center will also take the stage.
The head of the "Yeraz" series emphasized that the
publication of children's literature is taken very seriously. All
"Yeraz" books are designed with a clear age group and a specially
selected font to make reading enjoyable. "When you give a child a thick
book at the age of 10 or even 11, the love of reading can completely disappear.
We have designed our books based on international experience to ensure that
each age group has a suitable book."
According to Ani Hakobyan, head of literary programs at newmag
Publishing House, they will present three books from the "Yeraz"
series at the "BACK TO SCHOOL" children's book festival. These books
cater to children of different ages, from 3 years old to teenagers. "The
first, 'Finding the Way to Faraway Valley', is a beautiful Swedish picture book
for 3-9-year-olds with an engaging educational story. This book was prepared
for publication with our partner, the 'Paradigma' Educational Foundation.
Their education specialists, who are well-versed in
international practices, along with newmag, offer this interesting book for
parents and children. What sets newmag and 'Paradigma' books apart is the
special guide insert for parents. Through these inserts, parents can enjoy the
book with their children and help develop the child’s functional literacy. As
the child flips through the book, reads, and looks at the pictures, they communicate
with the parent, who can engage with the child and teach various skills, from
counting and math to learning colors. The book features a lovely story about
two bears who go in search of the most elusive forest at the end of the
world," said Ani Hakobyan.
The other new book is the second volume of the American bestseller "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney. This book, titled "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" features new adventures, develops new skills, and presents new funny stories. It’s a great gift for the new school year.
Another book is the long-awaited "The Adventures of
Electronic" which has been in the works for nearly a year. This three-part
series is a favorite among many parents and has been a part of many childhoods.
The characters from the series now appear in book form for the first time in
Armenian. Evgeni Veltistov's "The Adventures of Electronic" is being
published in Armenian for the first time.
On the day of the festival, the premiere of the Armenian version
of the popular and well-known song "The Winged Swing" from the film
will take place at Yeraz Park. The song will be performed by the students of
Mihran Arpi Studio.
Lilit Harutyunyan, head of marketing and communication for the
State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, believes that interdisciplinary
cooperation has been achieved, uniting two branches of art—literature and
music. The musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia’s string
quintet will present classical renditions of music from beloved cartoons at the
festival. Music from popular cartoons such as "Cinderella", "Poo
Poo Mouse", "Gena the Crocodile", and "Tom and Jerry"
will be featured.
"Although the symphony’s concerts are typically for ages 6
and up, this will be a unique opportunity for even younger children to enjoy
their favorite cartoons. This could mark the beginning of an exciting
collaboration with newmag, as we plan to work with our best partners over the
long term and view it from this perspective. We hope to continue our
collaboration with newmag and develop larger initiatives. As part of the book
fair, the orchestra will also present the 'Symphonic Class A' educational and
cultural program."
During the "Symphonic Class A" educational and
cultural program, the orchestra has prepared surprises for the most active
participants. The festival will also feature a symphonic educational program,
through which children will be introduced to classical music and learn
interesting facts about it through interactive games, prizes, and gifts.
The festival organizers urge you to join us at Yeraz Park on
Saturday, August 24, from 5 pm. to enjoy a wonderful book and music festival.
Entry to all events is free.
