Newmag Publishing House continues its unprecedented book donation program. Within the framework of the initiative, the Stepanavan City Library was replenished with 500 new and modern books. This time, the program was implemented with the support of the “Flash” company.

The library’s collection has not been significantly updated since 1988. Today, the library serves 2,800 readers and houses around 87,000 books.

The director of the library, Sofia Duniamalyan, who has been leading the institution since 1982, welcomed the initiative:

“We have very smart readers. It is important for us to foster Armenian upbringing and encourage young people to love reading, and for that, updating the book collection is essential. We are grateful to Newmag and Flash company for replenishing our fund with new and modern literature.”

The editor-in-chief of Newmag Publishing House, Gnel Nalbandyan, presented the donated collection of 500 books to the library:

“The selection includes children’s, motivational, historical, political, fiction, and biographical books, so that regional readers can access well-designed, modern works by both Armenian and international authors in line with global standards.

These are books with strong content, but also with thoughtful design, pleasant to browse, hold, and read. For young readers especially, cover design and readable typography are essential for building a connection with books.”

Daniel Shahumyan, Head of Digital Marketing at Flash, explained the company’s involvement in the initiative:

“We are glad to combine efforts for a meaningful cause. Flash is a national company operating in the fuel import and sales sector for 30 years. As a large company, we value initiatives that contribute to the development of society, and education is one of them.

Over the years, we have supported various educational programs, scholarships, and initiatives with a strong educational mission. Today, we are proud to join Newmag in this donation. Newmag brings world literature closer to Armenian readers and helps form a modern mindset. Flash always supports initiatives that contribute to a stronger and more developed society.”

The head of Newmag Publishing House, Artak Aleksanyan, emphasized the importance of active readership and librarians’ role:

“This donation will only be meaningful if the books reach readers. If we see active use, reading clubs, and engagement, we will continue expanding support for your library. We stand with those who love books, as we do.”

This marks the 15th book donation initiative by Newmag Publishing House. Together with its partners, the publishing house continues to replenish regional libraries, many of which had not been updated since Soviet times, ensuring access to contemporary literature for readers of all ages.
