Partnership for Aznavour: How and why Newmag and Amundi ACBA decided to publish Charles Aznavour's books (video in Armenian)

Aznavour’s “À voix basse” autobiography was the first cooperation between Newmag and Amundi ACBA. The Armenian translation of the book was published in 2019 and became the most sincere confession about the life and destiny of the great Armenian. Taking care of Aznavour’s literary heritage is a corporate responsibility, says Hrayr Aslanyan, Deputy Executive Director of Amundi-ACBA Asset Management. “Amundi ACBA is an Armenian-French company, thus it represents the culture of both countries. We have decided to support this initiative in order to make Aznavour’s literary pieces available for the Armenian reader.”

The next book in the Aznavour series was presented by Newmag and Amundi-ACBA on Aznavour’s 96th birthday.In this book, Aznavour has a dialogue with the reader and for the last time answers the question, whether he is more Armenian or French? According to Jean Mazedjian, Executive Director of Amundi-ACBA Asset Management, the project is very significant for them. “This project is indeed extremely important for us. Our main goal is to give people an opportunity to learn more about Aznavour. People know Aznavour as a singer, but they don’t really know his qualities as a person.”

In autumn of 2020, Newmag presented Aznavour’s “Tant Que Battra Mon Coeur” book. This was the third cooperation between Newmag and Amundi ACBA. This book is about several lives and all those lives were lived by Aznavour himself. With the support of Amundi-ACBA, this book was presented to the Armenian reader on December 7, 2020. Hrayr Aslanyan assures that this project will present new books until Aznavour's 100th anniversary. “As Amundi ACBA has undertaken to support this initiative, to have all of Aznavour's books translated into Armenian before his 100th birthday, wait for us not only on May 22, but also in the following years.” 

As promised on the eve of Charles Aznavour's birthday, Newmag presented the 5th book of the great chansonnier․ Newmag and Amundi ACBA presented the collection of short stories "My father, that giant". 

In 2021 a new direction of cooperation was added.Very few of the composer's more than a thousand songs have been translated into Armenian. With its touching French elegance and Armenian sound Reste - "Stay" is presented to the Armenian audience as a result of the cooperation between Newmag Publishing House and Amundi ACBA. The song is performed by Erik Karapetyan.
