UNESCO conceived the idea of International Jazz Day intending to foster peace, solidarity, and dialogue among the public through jazz. This musical art form has undergone several stages of development, starting from the 1920s when jazz began spreading across Europe and later into Asia.

Since 2012, International Jazz Day has been celebrated on April 30th. This year, Gary Kesayan and his jazz quartet invite everyone to the Aram Khachatryan concert hall. Alla Sahakyan, as well as a special guest from the USA, the virtuoso violinist Lusine Fyelon, will perform at the great jazz festival. The program will include the already famous and beloved performances of Gary Kesayan: Milky Way, Angel Dance, Aznavour, new jazz works and world hits.

Gary Kesayan started his jazz career in 1973, creating the first jazz trio in Armenia. In 1990, he created the ensemble "Gary Kesayan Jazz Quartet". He wrote music, made arrangements, recorded albums, and performed in many concerts. In 1998, he participated in the first Yerevan International Jazz Festival.

This year is also the 85th anniversary of Armenian jazz. On April 30th, at 8 pm, International Jazz Day will be celebrated with the most impressive jazz chords. Tickets are available on www.tomsarkgh.am and www.khachaturianhall.am websites. cost: from 3000 to 15,000 AMD.
