In the first three volumes, the author presented the problems of Armenia and the region, the ambitions of geopolitical centers and the role of Armenia. He answered the question "What should be done to get the country out of a difficult situation?" And in the fourth volume of the analyses, there are already scientific articles, in which the author diagnosed the internal and external threats to Armenia and predicted possible catastrophes with amazing accuracy back in the 1990s.

There are many worrying issues related to the foundations of newly independent Armenia in these articles of Tigran Hayrapetyan, from the state management system formed in the early 1990s to the importance of a proportional perception of freedom and responsibility. The author analyzes the possible perspectives of Armenia, considering them in the context of contrasts of war and peace, democracy and dictatorship.

In the volume "A Thousand Years of Desert", Tigran Hayrapetyan presents: "What happened, why did it happen and what should be done?" Even today's events, internal and external threats and possible disasters threatening Armenia and Artsakh are described in detail and with amazing realism.

The book contains articles written between 1991 and 1999, some of which were published posthumously. Some of the articles were unpublished until now, and the reader will read them for the first time.

Political scientist and publicist Hayrapetyan was an independent expert of the National Security Council of Armenia and editor of political periodicals in the 1990s. He founded and managed the "Armenia-Middle East" political and international research center, and managed the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS). Actively participated in the Artsakh movement.

Since 1991, his articles have been regularly published in the Armenian and international press. Tigran Hayrapetyan was known by the pseudonym "Arthur Ovi". He is the author of almost 400 publications. He died in an accident at the age of 35. The library of the "Mkhitar Sebasatsi" educational complex is named after him.

The TV presentation of the book "A Thousand Years of Desert" will take place on December 14, within the framework of the Morning Show on Armenia TV, and the presentation will take place on December 15, 7 pm, at the Common Ground cafe-bookstore. The main partner of the book is the Union of Armenian Orientalists.
