Newmag Publishing House presented the book "Project Management" during the Morning Show on Armenia TV. Yervand Hovhannisyan, a former student of Astghik Sahakyan and a member of the board of the Armenian representation of the Institute of Project Management, said that he waited in line for two hours to buy Astghik's "Project Management” at the Winter Fest. "I am very impressed by both the festival and the presentation of the book. It is the first Armenian-language book on project management."
Yervand Hovhannisyan has known the author of the book for 10 years. He participated in Astghik Sahakyan's PMP certification course. "Any process in different fields can be considered as a project. From planning the day to hosting guests, any process can be defined as a project. This book provides the components and tools to properly manage projects. Astghik's courses are very simple and accessible, for a long time the professional literature was only in English, now there is also Astghik's book in Armenian. I will recommend the book to be read by everyone, it will be effective for specialists in all fields."
Evoca Bank, as the primary partner of the "Project Management" book, made an early commitment to support this endeavor from its conceptual stage, according to Tatevik Khachatryan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Evoca. "We recognized the value of this book right from its inception. It promises to equip professionals across various domains—project managers, executives, and others—with invaluable skills and a comprehensive toolkit," she emphasized. "This book not only distills the collective wisdom of the global project management community but also encapsulates Astghik's 15 years of hands-on experience and dedication to the field," she added. "Seasoned professionals will find new insights within its pages, while newcomers will undoubtedly find themselves drawn to the profession after reading it."
Astghik Sahakyan shed light on the essence of the book, emphasizing its focus on people skills. Astghik Sahakyan spoke first about the title. "Previously, project success was often measured by adherence to timelines and budgets. However, in today's landscape, we emphasize the importance of tangible outcomes that create value for society, the financial market, or any other relevant sphere," Astghik explained. "Take, for instance, the planning of my son's birthday celebration. It's a project that involves navigating through various interests and stakeholders, ensuring everyone's satisfaction. In many ways, it's even more complex than the construction project I'm currently overseeing at the Armenia-Iran checkpoint," she added.
Astghik Sahakyan says that projects are implemented by people, they are implemented for people. Her book is about that. "In the book, I talk about my projects, I present my cases, there are absurd situations and funny incidents in the book. I have also transferred my years of experience to my students, I have taught from teenagers to governors."
Astghik Sahakyan says that she enjoyed working with Newmag. There have been many tense moments, especially in the last month, because she was in the United States. "Famous, big companies have already understood the importance of this field of expertise. The companies themselves invite to conduct training for their employees. This book will also help you become a good professional. I always say Noah's Ark was also a project, we just don't say Noah was a PMP”.
The book is experiencing high demand, available for purchase on both the newmag.am website and at local bookstores.
