Vladislav Gasumyanov and Alina Gasumyanova published the book "Ruben" this year. Months later, newmag translated and published it in Armenian.

Ruben Vardanyan has been imprisoned illegally in Baku for a year. Azerbaijan arrested Vardanyan on September 27, 2023, while he was crossing the Hakari Bridge. He was returning to Armenia after the occupation of Artsakh, along with other leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh.

In September 2022, he renounced his Russian citizenship and moved to Artsakh. He was appointed Minister of State of Artsakh in November and held the position for three months. After leaving the post, he remained in Artsakh. On September 19, just days before his arrest, Ruben Vardanyan revealed to the world and Armenia how Azerbaijan had begun large-scale military operations against the civilian population.

Evgeny Vodolazkin, writer, stated, "I do not doubt for a minute that Ruben Vardanyan's move to Nagorno-Karabakh was motivated by sincere intentions. Perhaps this is what Akhmatova wrote about. Ruben makes our terrible world a little kinder. It is impossible to accept that he is in prison now. This situation has absolutely nothing to do with common sense and humanity. Ruben Vardanyan should be free."

This is an excerpt from the book "Ruben." Father and daughter Gasumyanov appreciated the assessments and sincere opinions of Russian and Armenian figures from business, science, art, and various high-ranking specialists, as well as leaders of public opinion and famous individuals worldwide. These reflections showcase the pioneering, visionary, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan, highlighting his versatile talent and humanity in achieving significant goals, despite being currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.

This book is a call for justice and the release of Ruben Vardanyan so he can continue his hundreds of projects aimed at helping people and promoting humanitarian values.

More than seven hundred programs and projects have turned into seven hundred real works—a man-dreamer whose bold ideas have become reality. What kind of Armenia did he envision, and how did he unite the world's Armenians and non-Armenians around the Armenian dream?

"Ruben Vardanyan, together with his family and colleagues in Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora, initiated and implemented approximately:

  • 700 projects with a total budget of
  • $700 million, including:

    $202 million
    allocated to the education sector
    $68 million for humanitarian initiatives
    o
