Ultraviolet Podcast | S01 E05: Terror of Opinion and Liberal Narcissism
05/14/2025
In this episode, Violet Grigoryan delves into the discussions sparked by poet Marine Petrosyan’s Facebook post.
These conversations prompted Violet to critically examine the concept of the “right to express an opinion” in Armenia. She explores how, on one hand, the value of expressing opinions is diminished through various speculations, while on the other hand, freedom of speech is selectively defended, often only among like-minded individuals, while the opposing viewpoints are condemned.
The superficial dogmatization of the liberal “gospel” is likened to Orwellian newspeak, manipulated to support government propaganda, spread disinformation, deny truth, and distort history.
