To choose a smart and interesting gift before Children's Protection Day and during the school holidays, Newmag Publishing House presents a fascinating book, a world bestseller. "Skandar and the Unicorn Thief" by Annabel Steadman is the first part of a three-volume story. It has already been translated into forty-six languages.

One of the first readers of the Armenian edition of the book is Nare Harutyunyan. "The book is for teenagers and has a perfect plot. I was never bored for a minute. Unicorns are the heroes of the book, but in this book, stereotypes are broken, unicorns are not kind, magical animals. I have loved unicorns since I was a child and reading about them from a new perspective was very interesting."

Nare says that the plot of the book is very absorbing and attractive. "You immerse yourself in the book and find yourself in adventures with Skandar. Many of my friends have already started reading the book and I am sure Skandar will also have a large army of fans."

The translator of the Armenian edition is Nare Harutyunyan. According to her, in addition to the interesting and tense plot, the magical creatures of the book also become friends. "The book is fantastic in all respects, I read it in two or three days and translated it with great pleasure. It has been an interesting and complicated journey to the world of unicorns. Translating children's literature is more difficult.

In this book, there are fictitious places and names. We sat for days with the editor and staff of Newmag to translate and create equally interesting names: Arsatasayr, Barkabaze, and Shan Bakht. We invented all these names taking into account the nature of the characters and the English version. In the same way, we have also thought about the Armenian versions of the place names. Skandar's story will help to appreciate important values: friends, family, responsibility, and faith in one's own abilities."

The translator of the book is already working on the second volume, after which she will also translate the third part. Until the new Armenian volumes of "Skandar and the Unicorn Thief" are ready, she advises children to open their wings and soar like the unicorns in the book.
