The collaboration between Newmag Publishing House and Hrant Dink Foundation unveils a groundbreaking project. The foundation has curated an exceptional documentary collection, to be showcased by the publishing house at the book market as part of the Newma

Memory is an obligation. Even in the absence of official accounts, human memory perseveres. Hrant Dink Foundation has meticulously gathered testimonies from Turkish and Armenian emigrants, shedding light on their struggles, and their resilience in preserving their identity, faith, culture, and language in the post-genocide period.

These testimonials are condensed into the four-volume series "The Voice of Silence," which can become a pivotal component of Turkey's archive and the Armenian memory. Through the narratives of those who reverted to their ancestral faith, concealed their Armenian heritage, or navigated the complexities of coexistence, a rich mosaic of collective memory emerges.

As part of the Newmag & Friends program, the publishing house introduces "The Voice of Silence" documentary collection from the Hrant Dink Foundation. The four volumes encompass the stories of Armenians across different regions: "Armenians of Turkey Speak," "Armenians of Diyarbakır," "Armenians of Ankara," and "Armenians of Sivas." These works offer unprecedented insights into the lives of Armenians in Turkey.

In December 2023, under the Newmag & Friends program, the Hrant Dink Foundation unveiled a poignant work by Turkish journalist Tuba Chandar, chronicling the life of Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Chandar's "Hrant" is a captivating oral history, woven from the memories of friends, family, and colleagues.

The establishment of the Hrant Dink Foundation emerged in the aftermath of the tragic events of 2007, driven by the vision to prevent such atrocities and realize Hrant Dink's aspirations for a fairer, freer world. Upholding the foundational principles of democracy and human rights, irrespective of ethnic, religious, cultural, or gender differences, the foundation strives to foster a society in Turkey where human dignity takes precedence over territorial claims, and conscience guides reflections on the past and present.

The exclusive documentary collection "The Voice of Silence" is available on the newmag.am website and in all leading bookstores.
