The TV premiere of the song and video clip “The Children of this Fight” took place (video)

Charles Aznavour dedicated “The Children of this Fight" to the children of warring countries. The theme of the song is based on the memories of the Second World War. Aznavour's parents came to the aid of Jewish families, hiding under their roof. Decades later, Newmag Armenianized this song and dedicated it to the children of Artsakh.

The partners of the project are Armenia TV and Amundi-ACBA Asset Management. Amundi Acba has been with the publishing house since the very beginning in presenting Aznavour's works in Armenian. According to Executive Director Hovik Mazedjian, who was present at the TV premiere, during the five years of activity, they had an important message: to armenify Aznavour's rich heritage.

“Newmag works professionally and with great accountability. I knew the French version of this song. Unfortunately, the Armenian version became about the children of Artsakh. This song seems to be a warning to us, it warns us to be next to these children and take care of them so that they become stronger”.

The song was newly arranged by Martin Mirzoyan. The poem was translated into Armenian by Lilit Bleyan. In 2021 Shushan Petrosyan asked Lilit to translate the song and Lilit did it in one night. “I had never approached Charles Aznavour's art. I sent the first version to Shushan, then corrected it, of course. Unfortunately, this song became about today. During the translation we had completely different expectations, unfortunately, it sounds different now. Shushan chose this song and I must say that she feels it deeply”.

It is the last song recorded by Shushan Petrosyan. “The Children of this Fight” sounds about the present. “The words dictate how to sing, in what mood. It was one of my childhood songs, my father used to listen to Aznavour a lot, at that time I didn't know what it was about. When we were working on the song “Take Me” with Newmag, we decided to do “The Children of this Fight” as well. Of course, at that time we had no idea about this great loss. The children in this video are 9-10 years old and have already seen 3 wars, siege and famine, and this in the 21st century and front of the world”.

The photos of Davit Ghahramanyan, a photographer from Artsakh presented in the video. After the forced displacement, several more pictures were added, completing the video history of the children of this fight.
