Newmag is publishing a collection of short stories for the first time. Penned by the author of the acclaimed novels "Andranik's Last Horse" and "Crows Before Noah," both recipients of the RA President's Award, this fresh compilation is titled "The Guilty Past of the Forest."

The characters in this latest collection embody our modern era while carrying echoes of the past in their essence, experiences, and personalities. "The Guilty Past of the Forest" comprises 19 tales infused with the author's trademark simple yet vivid style and irreverent humor that challenges societal norms. Through these stories, readers are transported into a realm where individuals resist the fluctuations of societal values, living in sync with nature's rhythm, while the author boldly delineates their moral boundaries amidst ever-shifting norms.

A year ago, Newmag introduced Susanna Harutyunyan's novel "Andranik's Last Horse," marking her 12th publication as a contemporary Armenian writer. Having penned her inaugural story at the age of 10, she delved into fiction writing from the age of 25. Harutyunyan often centers her novels around rural folk, drawn from her roots in Vardenis. The trials and tribulations of village life remain her favored subjects.

The author straddles the realms of life and literature, asserting that while life and its themes remain constant, it's the writers and their perspectives that evolve. Her literary works have been translated into a myriad of languages including English, French, Persian, Greek, Romanian, Azerbaijani, German, Kazakh, and others.

The main partner of the book "The Guilty Past of the Forest" is the "Renaissance" Foundation. The presentation of the collection of short stories will take place on March 13, 7 pm.
