The TV presentation of the main bestseller of 2024, "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides, took place (photos, video).

Gnel Nalbandyan noted that the Armenian readers became the first to read the book because of the time zones. "We are a pioneer, purely due to the specificity of time zones. First, the premiere is in Armenia, then in Europe, and then in the United States. Newmag has decided to go along with global trends. This is a new approach, and this is wonderful, we are not in the backyard, we are walking in parallel with the world. Sales in bookstores have already started."

To present "The Fury" to the whole world, the publishing house has done a lot of editorial and production work in advance. The editor-in-chief of the publishing house says that the Armenian reader should feel that the publishing house provides a global offer and that he or she is in the global mainstream. "There is already a huge demand for the book. This is Newmag's big action with all bookstores, this is a big literary event. Of course, it is difficult, we would like to live normally like everyone else, but we need to join the global pace, to keep deadlines. The team managed to do it, very good work and, good translation. We kept the cover because it's important for bestsellers. Michaelides provides readers with a bestseller every three years, first, it was “The Silent Patient”, then “The Maidens”, and I think this will become another bestseller”.

Gnel Nalbandian opened some secrets. The author makes a detailed psychoanalysis of the characters of his book. "This is a detective story, but fiction is parallel to obscure stories. It is important not only what happened, but how and why. Alex Michaelides has Greek roots, and, like Armenian roots, they force us to take everyone to Garni, Geghard, and Michaelides always takes his heroes to Greek mythology."

Margarit Sargsyan, the editor of the Armenian edition, told how they worked to have the book ready on the same day as the whole world. "We worked for several months, Artak Aleksanyan made the offer to me, and I translated the author's two previous novels. I was in parallel contact with the translator Astghik Atabekyan, we worked with the editor. This work is distinguished by the children's psychological problems of the characters, which lead to the events that take place in the novel. Greek names and mythology are key in the book in this case as well. All this is thought-provoking, there is love, relationships, famous people, stars, and many others."

The partner of the Armenian edition is the "Zangak" bookstore. Astghik Ohanyan, the head of cultural affairs of the bookstore congratulated the Armenian readers, because for the first time, the Armenian translation was published not several years after the international premiere, but simultaneously, on the same day. "We have published several books with the Newmag publishing house. We know what the reader wants, and Newmag knows how to deliver it. The previous two books of Michaelides sold out quickly, readers are still buying and reading. This book has also already aroused great interest among readers. The author skillfully reveals why the murder happened, he does it all by analyzing the dark events of his characters' childhood because that’s what influenced the future events. The two characters had a rather difficult childhood, then it seems that everything was covered up, they achieved success, but the writer shows that nothing happens unreasonably. Psychological issues have consequences.”

From January 16, "The Fury" is also available in all branches of "Zangak" bookstore. The head of the bookstore’s cultural affairs hopes that the readers will manage to buy the book because it seems that the novel will run out of print very soon.

Ruben Yesayan, the young author of thrillers, is also a fan of Alex Michaelides. According to him, the author’s success is a great motivation for him, moreover, Michaelides helped him to write better. "I practiced some skills while reading the first two novels. For example, he forced me to read the next one after reading the first book. I tried to use that technique in my books as well. I was very happy that Newmag published this novel. I am also proud that I received the book from Artak Aleksanyan to read in advance."

Ruben Yesayan says that Michaelides’s style is one of the most demanded in the world.  "The author always forces the reader to change all theses about what will happen at the end of the story. But if in the previous two books, I made some discoveries, in this case, it was impossible. I recommend this novel, especially if you liked the previous two ones."
