An exclusive publication for the Great Jubilee: Newmag Presents Charles Aznavour's Poetry and Prose in Two Volumes (Trailer)

On the 100th anniversary of the 'singer of the century,' Newmag presents his poetry and prose in an exclusive two-volume set. This is the result of six years of laborious work, during which the publishing house collaborated with Amundi-Acba Asset Manageme

After Aznavour's death, Newmag translated and published the chansonnier's literary legacy into Armenian with exclusive rights. The first volume includes all autobiographies and novels, while the second volume comprises a collection of 500 songs. This exclusive and limited edition is titled "Aznavour: A Collection of Works - Prose".

"Clinging to Life", "As Long as the Heart Beats", "In a Soft Whisper", "Past Days", and "One Door Closes and Another Opens" are titles of Charles Aznavour's books already familiar to Armenian readers in separate volumes. Some of these works brought him success, some stirred significant attention, and some compelled him to refine his own style and venture further into the literary realm. Passion, love, betrayal, dedication, separation, suicide, deception, gambling, repentance, and dialogue with God—there are no taboo subjects for Aznavour's pen.

This complete volume of Charles Aznavour's prose includes 5 autobiographical works and a collection of short stories that Newmag published between 2019 and 2023. Also included are the maestro's 16 novels, written with his own humor and imagination, spanning themes such as Armenia, bohemian life, love, friends, and Hollywood. Whatever Aznavour discusses, he is always honest and straightforward, modest and tolerant.

Aznavour's works encapsulate the history of the 20th century through songs, portraying people's destinies in notes and thoughts. Five hundred of these were selected by the singer of the century and compiled into one collection—L'Intégrale. Newmag initially published them in 4 volumes: "L'intégrale," "Love and War," "For You, Armenia," and "I'm Not Leaving...".

This collection presents songs written from the chansonnier's first serious creative steps to the sunset of his life. Thanks to the extensive efforts of Newmag, Aznavour's depth, life experiences, and years of expertise were recognized in Armenia, showcasing his entire palette.

Over the course of 6 years, thanks to the project, 6 songs were also performed in Armenian. Newmag Armenianized Charles Aznavour's works such as "Stay," "Take Me Along," "Who," "To Die of Love," "How Sad Venice Can Be," and "Children of War."

The publishing house executed this unique Aznavour project in collaboration with Amundi-Acba Asset Management. Serving as companions to both books and songs, Amundi-Acba Asset Management is an indispensable partner also to this two-volume book.

The book presentation is scheduled for Aznavour's 100th birthday on May 22nd at 7 pm at O2 Gardens (address: Silikyan district (3rd village), 13th street, №2/8). The anniversary evening will also feature the songs that Newmag and Amundi-Acba Asset Management presented. A "Khaluli" wine reception will be hosted during the event. The main sponsor of the anniversary is the "Profal" company. On that day, the special edition will be available for purchase at a discounted price.
